If you wish to find files that may be considered system in your Mac OS, such as the Normal.dot(m) template file or the Wordfast Classic wordfast.dot file, here is how to do so:

  1. Press Command+F on your keyboard to open a search window.
  2. Type the search string (such as wordfast.dot) in the search field in the top right corner.
  3. Beneath the search field, there should be special bar to let you specify your search criteria. (If it's not there, click the small + sign beneath the search field.) The default settings for the search criteria are usually Kind is Any. Set the first menu to System files and the second one to are included. Now you can run the search.
