Wordfast End User License Agreement (EULA)
short and legible ~ please read carefully. This EULA is a legal agreement between you,
the customer, and Wordfast LLC. By purchasing Wordfast’s software products you agree to be bound
by the terms and conditions herein.
the software designates either or both software applications produced by Wordfast LLC and known as "Wordfast Classic™"
(a translation tool designed as an add-on to Microsoft Word™)
and "Wordfast Professional™" (a platform-independent suite of translation tools).
Terms and conditions
Licenses to use the software include, from date of purchase:
- the right to install and run the software;
- email support (e-hotline) for one year;
- free upgrades to new releases(1) of the software for three years;
- a right to relicense the software to keep it running for three years.
(1)A new release means a new version of the software which
has substantial new functionality and which is designated by a change in the version number.
I. LICENSE PERIOD
The License Period commences upon purchase date of the license and continues for 3 years from date of purchase.
To renew a license after the initial three-year period, the cost will be 50% of the full list price of a new
license at the time of the license renewal; that renewed license will also be valid for an additional three years.
II. LICENSE RENEWAL
A license number is delivered for one specific install number (click here for help on a Wordfast Classic install number, here for help on a Wordfast Professional install number).
Your install number reflects some unique characteristics of your computer, which can change if you format your hard disk,
change your Operating System or Microsoft Word™ version, or migrate to another computer.
If this happens, you must re-install the software then
click here to apply to renew your license ("relicense").
This process is free for three years from the date of purchase, and can be repeated as needed to keep
your installation of the software running during those three years.
Should you use this licensing renewal facility more than 4 times a year, we will require
an emailed request to relicense further. After review, your request will most likely be granted. We reserve the right to
discontinue providing licenses in a (very unlikely) case of abuse of this multiple relicensing policy.
III. MULTIPLE INSTALLATIONS
Individual users (physical persons) who want to use the software on a second computer (for example, a laptop) they own and use:
install Wordfast on the second computer then obtain a license using the relicense procedure.
Corporations & organizations (moral persons) can run only one installation of the software per computer
they own and use. Any of these installations can be relicensed if the install number changes.
IV. OWNERSHIP
Wordfast LLC offers a generous demo mode which enables you to try the software on your system and make sure you are satisfied
with it prior to purchase. As such, Wordfast licenses are non-refundable.
Licenses cannot be sold or transferred to other persons or corporations.
The user has sole responsibility for damages arising from the use or misuse of the software.
Wordfast LLC remains the sole owner of the software.
V. ENTIRE AGREEMENT
The customer acknowledges and agrees that he/she has read and understands this EULA.
This EULA is the entire agreement between Wordfast LLC and the customer and supersedes any
prior or contemporaneous agreement or understanding, whether written or oral, and any
other communications between Wordfast LLC and the customer relating to the subject matter of this EULA.

Here are a few examples of what this practically means:
|
Example 1 | An individual user bought one license. She installs either or both Wordfast Classic
and/or Wordfast Professional on her desktop and receives a license for each installation. She installs either or both Wordfast applications again on
her laptop then applies for license number(s) for each of those two aplications on her laptop, using the relicensing
facility. |
|
Example 2 | A translation agency, or a corporation, bought 3 licenses. They can have, at any time,
no more than 3 installations of Wordfast (Wordfast Classic and/or Wordfast Professional). If a workstation breaks
down and is replaced, they can re-install the corresponding Wordfast application, then
relicense that particular Wordfast application. |
