There are generally two cases when you would want to use the Extract Uniques and Populate Uniques features available in QuickTools:
- You receive a large file (more than 1000 segments) that contains a significant number of repetitions and you want to reduce the size of the file for faster processing in the “TXLF Editor”.
- Your project involves multiple files (e.g. hundreds) that you want to merge into a single file for translation:
- by a single translator to avoid having to open/close hundreds of files, some of which might contain only one or two segments,
- by multiple translators, after using the Split TXLF feature.
