There are generally two cases when you would want to use the Extract Uniques and Populate Uniques features available in QuickTools:

  1. You receive a large file (more than 1000 segments) that contains a significant number of repetitions and you want to reduce the size of the file for faster processing in the “TXLF Editor”.
  2. Your project involves multiple files (e.g. hundreds) that you want to merge into a single file for translation:
    • by a single translator to avoid having to open/close hundreds of files, some of which might contain only one or two segments,
    • by multiple translators, after using the Split TXLF feature.
