Q. I am currently working in a team of translators on a large project where we have to use individual local TMs. How are these initials created, and can you configure your own initials as a translator?


A. Translation Memories automatically inherit the user name of the currently active profile on the machine of the translator.

To edit your User ID, once you create a new TM (this is workable for new translation units of even an old TM), open the TM file in NotePad and change the User ID in the header of the TM as you like. This new User ID will be applied to any new translation units you add to this TM.
