Bluetooth conflict with Wordfast Classic, video by CATguru

Microsoft Word for Windows crashes when you attempt to start a Wordfast Classic translation session or when you try closing MS Word after you have been using Wordfast Classic. The problem occurs with various versions of Windows (e.g. XP, Vista) and Microsoft Office (eg. 2007, 2010).

Reason

This can happen for a number of reasons; however, a well-know culprit is an outdated Widcomm bluetooth driver by Broadcom, integrated into MS Word (it adds a Send to Bluetooth option in Word). If you are using a Windows laptop equipped with with bluetooth, chances are its driver is the problem.

Solution

Uninstall the Bluetooth driver using the Control Panel in Windows. If you like, obtain and install a newer version of the bluetooth driver. For details, please see this video.
