Wordfast Online Training Events

Do you need to know more about how to use Wordfast efficiently, and how to get the most out of its diverse preferences? We are organizing online training events on Wordfast to help ‪translators‬ explore its hidden worlds. By virtue of being online, you can attend these training sessions from anywhere.

Note: Attending these training events does NOT require owning a Wordfast license beforehand.

Wordfast Pro 5 Beginner's Course — 22 and 24 May 2018, 6:00-8:00 PM AEST (GMT+10)

Online course, consisting of 3 sessions (total duration: 4.5 hours).


Organized in collaboration with the Australian Institute of Interpreters and Translators (AUSIT)

  • Project creation and management
  • Translation memories
  • Analysis and reporting
  • Tags and formatting
  • Predictive typing: AutoSuggest
  • Concordance searches and TM Lookup
  • Glossaries
  • Migration from Wordfast Pro 3 and Wordfast Classic
  • Questions & Answers (last 20 minutes)


Session 2: Thursday, 24 May, 6:00-8:00 PM GMT+10

  • Office, PDF and Live Preview
  • Auto-translation
  • Quality Assurance: Transcheck
  • Tasks in batch mode
  • Preferences and customization
  • TXLF Editor Filters
  • TM and glossary editing
  • Chain Files: translating multiple files as a single one
  • Questions & Answers (last 20 minutes)


TRAINER

John Di Rico began translating in 2005 and specializes in financial and marketing translation from French to English. He currently works as the Sales and Marketing Manager for Wordfast and runs a small translation business—ApexTra—in France. He is a member of the French translation professional association (Société Française des Traducteurs) and has an MA in Translation and Localization Management from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey (MIIS). John also teaches project management for the online Master in Technical Communication and Localization (TCLoc) program at the University of Strasbourg.

  • USD 50 for AUSIT members before midnight April 30, 2018 (GMT), USD 75 after May 1, 2018 (GMT)

  • Participants will be entitled to a 25% discount on the purchase of a new Wordfast Pro license once the training starts.

  • The course consists of 3 sessions and you should attend all of them; the above-mentioned fee covers all the sessions.
  • Sessions will be recorded so that you can watch them if you missed any or if you want to revise them.
