If you plan to use Wordfast Classic with Word 2010, make sure you are not using the Click-to-Run version of Office 2010, as it is known to cause problems in certain setups. See the following article for more information.
Before you can install Wordfast, you need to make a few changes in Word's security settings. In Word 2010, select File > Options:
In Word Options, select Trust Center > Trust Center Settings:
Under Macro Settings, choose Disable all macros except digitally signed macros and tick Trust access to the VBA project object model:
Under Message Bar, make sure Show the Message Bar... is selected (this should be the case, as it's the default value):
You can now close Word 2010 and the installation can take place. It is assumed you have downloaded the latest version of Wordfast Classic and uncompressed the content of the downloaded ZIP file (if not, see How to download and unzip Wordfast). Double-click on the wordfast.dot icon to start the installation.
You may see the following warning, if you have enabled Protected View in Word 2010. If so, click on the Enable Editing button:
You will then see the following Security Warning. Do not click on the Enable Content button. Instead, click on the Macros have been disabled message:
In the next screen, click on the Enable Content button:
Then, click on Advanced Options:
In the next screen, select Trust all documents from this publisher. This will let Word 2010 know Wordfast LLC is a trustworthy company.
The installation should then proceed automatically. If not, press Ctrl+Alt+W as instructed and you should see the following Congratulation message:
Wordfast will then close Word 2010 and start it again. Press Ctrl+Alt+W and you should see the Wordfast toolbar in Word's Quick Access Toolbar (QAT):
If you don't see the Wordfast toolbar, select the Add-ins tab and click on the Wordfast icon.
